For nearly 50 years, the Illawarra Hawks have been more than just a basketball team—we’ve been a cornerstone of the community, a club built on resilience, passion, and an unbreakable bond with the people of the region. Today, we take another step in honoring that legacy with the launch of the Illawarra Hawks Heritage Site.

This site is dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of the Hawks, starting with our first era (1979–1985)—the foundation years that shaped the club’s identity. You’ll find season-by-season recaps, profiles of the legends who defined those early years, and untold stories from the courts of the Snakepit to the struggles and triumphs that kept the club alive.

And this is just the beginning. New chapters, player profiles, and deep dives into our history will be released regularly, bringing to life the moments, people, and passion that have made the Hawks a lasting force in Australian basketball.
